The exchange of greeting cards has become a part of the American culture. Americans send more cards today than any other nation in the world. Since the introduction of e-cards people have bought fewer paper greeting cards, but Americans still buy about 6 billions of them annually.

Let's say that you are invited to the party of an American friend: a birthday party, wedding, baby shower, bar/bat mitzvah, or some other type of special occasion. Unless otherwise stated by the host, it is usually expected that you should bring a gift to the party. So let me offer you some advice on this!
